MY SILLY LITTLE GUYS!!! jack (green) and xavier (purple) are rai's OCs who i adore! i ended up commissioning them as nendoroid dolls about a year and a half ago now, with TopClayArts on Etsy creating the heads from references I drew out and Xavier's body being hand-dyed by me (which was tricky, I ended up having to buy a spare body since the first one turned out a bit TOO bright purple and wasn't a great color match). As for their outfits, Jack's is a standard Nendoroid doll outfit release, with Xavier's being made up almost entirely of custom pieces. Their secondary outfits are also standard Nendoroid doll outfit releases, with them being from the Nurse set. xavier's third outfit is the hatsune miku date outfit bc i feel like that's just something he'd like lol. i also got the vampire outfit for xav (not pictured), which he's in now.

madoka magica

a scale figure of homura akemi, a slim girl with long black hair and violet eyes. she is a magical girl -- a girl with magic powers who fights witches -- and she's wearing her magical girl outfit, a white tunic with a purple collar, with a purple pleated skirt with white frill and a black shirt with white trim at the collar and the end of the sleeves. she's also wearing black tights and kitten heel boots. she has one leg raised, and is leaning back slightly, as if in motion. her hair is blown to her left side slightly, along with her skirt and other parts of her outfit, like her shirt collars and tie. her arms are raised above her head, pistol in her right hand. she wears a serious expression, brows furrowed slightly and eyes focused beyond the view of the camera.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Akemi Homura - 1/8th Scale (Gift) (May 2013) - my first (and so far only) scale! i used to not like homura much after rebellion but looking back i think i was just being Very Fourteen Years Old about it to a degree. i think she's a very interesting character and i like rebellion as an examination of how devotion can warp into possessiveness if left unchecked (and also the lengths chronic trauma related to losing loved ones can make one go in order to keep the loved ones one doesn't wish to lose within grasp, if that makes sense lol)

a nendoroid petit of kyouko sakura. kyouko is a girl of average height with red hair that reaches past her waist tied in a high ponytail, and crimson eyes. she is in a cute chibi style, in her magical girl outfit. her magical girl outfit consists of a dark red one-piece high-low dress with a high collar and a small cutout just below her neck that displays her red soul gem, a dark pink skirt, black socks, red knee high boots with white trim, beige arm socks and black cuffs. she is holding her weapon of choice, a spear, in a mildly relaxed pose.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Sakura Kyouko - Nendoroid Petit (Good Smile Company) (Feb. 2012) - honestly despite how much i love homura i still think kyouko is my favorite... homura may have more going for her in terms of character intrigue and themes but Kyouko!!! Is Kyouko!!! she was the first character to really grab me in madomagi and i love that she gets more attention in the TDS manga, even if she did get a good bit of attention in the main series compared to like. mami. i also used to have the nendoroid petit of madoka in her magical girl outfit, but she has unfortunately been lost to time.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Miki Sayaka, Sakura Kyouko - Nendoroid, Uniform, Plain Clothes ver. (#422) (Good Smile Company) (Jul. 2014) - THESE TWOOOOO!!!! ngl back when i thought i was cis these two were like. my queer awakening. these two had me googling 'can girls kiss girls for real' 'can yuri happen for real' in like. 7th grade. you'd think me having literal 'but we're both girls!!!' thoughts about other girls who i totally had crushes on as a kid would have tipped me off but nah. self-sacrifice in the name of accompanying the person you care for into the great beyond got me. they are like the perfect foil to madohomu in that they're very 'i will follow you even into death' and madohomu is very 'i will kill death if it means keeping you alive'. yknow.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Kaname Madoka - Nendoroid, Maiko ver. (#322) (Good Smile Company) (Jul. 2013) - my first con exclusive figure!!! i got her at AX 2013 (back when i was 13... jfc). she's still a favorite of mine to this day, she's just so dang CUTE and comes with so many accessories! plus i'm a sucker for both parasols and sitting poses in figures, and she has BOTH. unbeatable.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Ultimate Madoka - Nendoroid (#285) (Good Smile Company) (Apr. 2013) - she's SO cute but she's SUCH a pain in the ass to set up. her wings never wanna stay in place, i had to modify her stand to get it to work properly, and even if those weren't a problem, she's SUCH a pain to pose. she's very pretty and i'm very glad i have her, i just wish she wasn't such a pain.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Akemi Homura - Nendoroid, Uniform ver. (#208) (Good Smile Company) (Feb. 2012) - got her to go with Ultimate Madoka, as I thought it'd be nice to have post-story Homura and Madoka posed together. ...didn't realize that the red ribbon hair piece is only compatible with the back hair piece from her magical girl nendoroid though ;;; so until I find just that piece for sale, i have her posed in her sitting pose. super cute, and she comes with a TON of extra pieces, even if some only make sense when used with her other nendoroid.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Mami Tomoe - Nendoroid (#183) (Good Smile Company) (Dec. 2011) - MAMIIIII i honestly didn't appreciate her as much as i should have when i was younger. she is very very sad. would shield her from all of the trauma of being a magical girl if i could, she has already been through enough. also, in regards to the figure, the promo pics honestly do NOT do her justice! mostly just that with the leveling they did, her hair and skin color make her look super washed out. but irl she isn't, she's perfect! she is so much cuter in person than i thought she would be, she's definitely a keeper!

Magia Record Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story - Nanami Yachiyo - Nendoroid (#1494) (Good Smile Company) (Jun. 2021) - YACHIYO.... HER... i got into magireco back when the english server launched and from the jump i LOVED yachiyo and still do! she's a very tragic character but bc her arc is explored in magireco's main story (which is now being adapted via magia exedra), i don't wanna spoil it! she's very sweet and i wish bad things would stop happening to her. also it's cool that we have a magical girl in her 20s in the series!

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Sakura Kyouko - Mega Jumbo Nesoberi Nuigurumi (SEGA) (Jul. 2018) - i am a simple man... i enjoy a nice nesoberi from time to time. i got her at a con for i thiiink $50 a few years back? which i thought was a bit steep at the time, since at the time most nesoberis were going for around $30? though in retrospect, especially considering the aftermarket for the madoka magica nesoberis, i'm very glad to have paid that instead of the $100+ prices i see now. i was also considering homura at that same con, though her price was even higher and i ended up balking.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Kyuubey - Madoka Magica - Kyubey Sleeping Plush (Great Eastern Entertainment) (2020 or before) - kyubey sleepy plush!! spotted this at jungle sometime before the pandemic and he was super cheap, so i snapped him up. he lives in my plushie net with kyouko.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Sakura Kyouko, Miki Sayaka - Toy's Works Collection Dress-up Niitengomu! - Niitengomu - Rubber Strap - Secret, Nakayoshi/ Good Friends ver. (Chara-Ani, Toy's Works) (Dec. 2014) - cute little kyousaya charm! the rest of the line aside from the secret ones (which i think the other is madoka and homura? iirc) have a swappable outfit gimmick, which is cute but imo i'd be worried about it coming apart and losing half the charm lol. the art for this one is super cute, i had to pick it up as soon as i could find it.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Miki Sayaka, Sakura Kyouko - Plush Keychain (Aniplex) (2012) - AAAAAA THEYRE SO CUTE...!! i got them when i saw rebellion in theaters, as i saw it the day after the premiere and my venue had a ton of merch on offer! i ended up getting these two along with the trifold film guidebook. i saw it with my bestie (who ended up being my future wife!!!), who IIRC got a messenger bag. we also got snacks before the movie and i ended up being so emotionally invested i didn't even touch them. i also cried when we were leaving the theater lol.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Miki Sayaka, Sakura Kyouko - Mini Shikishi (Aniplex) (Oct. 2013) - got this in the theater when i saw rebellion! the theater was buzzing with activity before the movie started, as there were a lot of us that were eager to trade shikishi for another character set we wanted more. i think i started with mami and nagisa and ended up trading for sayaka and kyouko.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Blu Ray, Limited Edition (Aniplex, Shaft) (2012) - wanted this for FOREVER but it was sadly very out of reach for the longest time, as it was still commanding a high price second-hand, even moreso for the english edition. i ended up getting this second-hand from mandarake a few years back for ~$20 in like-new condition and MAN was it worth it! i still really love this movie and this comes with a TON of stuff, including an artbook and a soundtrack.

the madoka rebellion movie pamphlet, whose cover is adorned with various paper-art pieces of production material produced by gekidan inu curry, the studio that creates the collage art the series is famous for. the most prominent elements of the design include a collaged bird design, a witch design described further in the entry below, scissors, safety pins, and a guillotine.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Movie Pamphlet - Limited Edition (Aniplex, Shaft, Tokyu Recreation) (Oct. 2013) -got this at the theater with the kyouko and sayaka plush keychains! i think it was like $30? since i had $60 to spend and the keychains were about $15 each. very cool little guidebook, includes some interviews with the voice cast and anime staff.

the madoka rebellion only you artbook. the cover features most of the cast sans homura in their magical girl outfits, facing the camera and smiling, aside from nagisa, a small girl with white hair and orange eyes, wearing an orange, fluff-lined poncho and brown pumpkin pants, who looks somewhat nervous. above them stands homura in her devil form that she gained at the end of the movie, grinning maliciously.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Art Book - Official Guidebook: Only You (Houbunsha) (Apr. 2014) -picked this up at Kino sometime in 2014 or 2015! very nice artbook, like the pamphlet it has voice cast and staff interviews, but also includes tons of promotional and production art.

Gekijouban Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari - Production Note (Feb. 2015) -got this for my 15th birthday! i'm not super into collecting artboks compared to how much i used to be, but i still treasure this. it's literally the most complete art collection for a piece of media i've ever seen and it's SO cool.

Splatoon - Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, Callie, Marie, Octoling Girl, Octoling Boy, Octoling, Pearl, Marina - Amiibo (Nintendo) (May 2012 - Nov. 2018) - not a ton to say about these individually, so i grouped them all into one entry! got the inkling girl and boy on release, though i originally preordered the set of three which included the regular inkling. unfortunately, the store i PO'd from didn't get any stock of them, so they sold me these two and gave me a partial refund as compensation. next addition were the pearl and marina amiibos, as i didn't have money for the other splatoon 2 amiibos when they released and aftermarket was pretty steep for a while. got them on preorder from the same store without incident, thankfully. the octo expansion amiibo i managed to get off of play-asia, which was the first time in years i had used the site. and lastly, i got callie and marie somewhat recently as a graduation gift to myself, as their aftermarket price has fallen significantly in the past year-ish due to them being reprinted when splatoon 3 released. despite being released over the course of years, quality is super consistent across the board and rather impressive, considering both the small scale and the cheap price point (at MSRP, at least).

Splatoon - Pearl Houzuki - Amiibo (Nintendo) (Sep. 2024) - snapped her up as soon as i could as well! i bought the set, but ended up giving marina to my wife as a gift :3 i love being able to split sets of stuff with my wife so much, buying matching gifts is one of my favorite ways to get her stuff

Black Rock Shooter - Nendoroid (#106) (Good Smile Company) (Aug. 2010) - my first nendoroid!! well, technically. the first one i bought back shortly before i turned 12 was a bootleg, though it took me a bit until i learned what bootlegs were and that i had overpaid for junk. I ended up re-buying a legit one a few years back, she's still a favorite despite anything beyond the OVA and the game to an extent not really grabbing me with BRS.

Black Rock Shooter - Dead Master - Nendoroid (#128) (Good Smile Company) (Dec. 2010) - far from my first nendoroid, i actually got her as a companion to BRS! i really love her design, i wanted her nendoroid for a long time but just couldn't find it at a price i was happy with. i eventually just bit the bullet and got her anyway a couple of years ago, for a price that, while still higher than msrp, still wasn't too bad. her :P faceplate is my favorite piece of hers!

nendoroid of puchitto rock shooter, released in 2011. she looks much like black rock shooter, but her hair is neater and her face looks silly. she's wearing an orange cheer outfit, orange being the mascot color for good smile company. she's waving a large orange and white cheerful japan flag as well.

Puchitto Rock Shooter - Black Rock Shooter - Cheerful Japan! - Nendoroid (#180) - Puchitto Support ver. (Good Smile Company) (Oct. 2011) - PUCHITTOOOO she's so silly. i got her for like $20 on auction ages ago, sometime after i got dead master. total steal, esp considering she was complete in box and in great condition! she, like the cheerful miku nendoroid, was originally sold as part of a relief effort for japan following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and the subsequent nuclear disaster at Fukushima Daiichi.

Black Rock Shooter - Dead Master (Great Eastern Entertainment) (Prior to Aug. 2015) - ok one thing DID grab me about the 2012 anime and that's dead master's design. actually, a lot of the designs from that show are really cool. i just felt like the narrative had zero breathing room and the resolution was VERY rushed. kagari had potential that i feel was partially realized, but not entirely? and yu's arc was... a mess. same with saaya's. also god damn i just felt awful for yomi the entire time. could have been good but got stuck with an 8 episode run. at least it looks cool.

Black Rock Shooter - Kuroi Mato - Strap - 1/1 (Good Smile Company) (Jul. 2010) - one of my favorite pieces of my collection honestly, i remember wanting one of these SO bad when i first watched the OVA but couldn't find any anywhere for ages. a very close friend of mine and i each wanted one, with one of us having mato's and the other having yomi's. serendipitously, we were recently able to reconnect for the first time in 8-ish years after a number of missed connections, and i couldn't be happier to be in touch again!

the limited edition of the brs ova. it includes a blu ray, dvd, 2 art books, and two tiny figures of black rock shooter and dead master.

Black Rock Shooter - Blu-Ray - Limited Edition (BRS Project, Ordet) (Dec. 2010) -GOD WHAT A GREAT SPECIAL EDITION... blu ray AND dvd, nendoroid petit figures, illustration book, AND A FULL STORYBOARD BOOK. LIKE, IT'S THE BOARDS FOR THE ENTIRE OVA. JUST! WOW! this really made me wanna get into storyboarding despite being an illustrator lol. i unfortunately don't have the figures, though, as i sold them as part of a lot ages ago. kind of wish i kept them but whatever.

Black Rock Shooter - The Game - PlayStation Portable Game (Imageepoch) (Aug. 2011) - the brs game! it's like... fine. nothing super standout but nothing awful, which i feel was kind of a curse Imageepoch games tended to have before they shut down. I really liked the Seventh Dragon games of theirs, but they didn't sell well, and once they actually started releasing stateside, the writing was kind of on the wall regarding their imminent closure... i got the first-press edition, which came with a charm of WRS.

Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb - Yuno - Nendoroid (#297) (May 2013) - YUNOCCHIIII i swear this show kept me going during my few year stint as an anxiety-ridden shut-in. literally 'ok if i just survive long enough i'll be able to move out and live with friends like in hidamari sketch' level shit. it's a very cute, feel-good show! aside from the stuff with yoshinoya, which i know is all meant in good fun but it just comes off weird most of the time.

Dungeon Meshi - Marcille Donato - Pop Up Parade Swacchao! (Good Smile Company) (Jan. 2025) - a figure i picked up for my 25th birthday! I had been wanting a Marcille figure since early 2024, but I wasn't happy with how her earlier prize figure releases turned out and her Tenitol was immediately out of my price range once she released, as her aftermarket instantly ballooned to well over $100. i'm glad i held out and ended up picking up her swacchao release for just about regular MSRP, because she's SUPER cute and her paint job is just right! I like that she even comes with a spare head with an angry face, as she's frequently exasperated by her fellow dungeoneers lmao

BOCCHI!!!! i had her preordered, so i figured i'd get her in august of 2023, but fsr mine got delayed until april of 2024? so i guess she ended up being an accidental birthday gift for me then lol. i wish her base nendoroid had the smiling face, but that's part of the expansion pack which i dont have bc Holy Shit $60 for faceplates??? no thanks.

Bocchi the Rock! - Kita Ikuyo, Ijichi Nijika, Yamada Ryou, Hitori Gotou - Desktop x Decorate Collections (SEGA) (Nov. 2023 - Mar. 2024) -plus i managed to get together the whole band through the desktop decorate line! some people think these look cheap and well. yeah. they're prize figures. i REALLY like them! i also love that it recreates a shot/promo image from the show, i always think it's really cute when figure lines go out of their way to emulate existing art. i also really like this figure from aniplex for the same reason, but it is FAR too rich for my blood at this point.

Lucky Star - Izumi Konata - EX Figure (SEGA) (Jun. 2009) - this was a VERY lucky find i got for my 24th birthday! i spotted her IRL while out shopping and her price wasn't too bad considering how much people gouge for lucky star stuff, so i got her! lucky star was one of the first anime i ever watched that i Knew was anime. one of my first online friends (and one of the first people i ever considered a close friend) told me to look it up since it was up in it's entirety on youtube with each episode split into 3 parts to get around youtube's 10 minute video limit at the time. even though parts of it i didn't get at the time and parts of it (like the l*li jokes w konata's dad) were never funny, i still feel a lot of it holds up and is generally p cozy!

Bulbasaur (Korean Gaming Association) (who the fuck knows) - ok so i had to REALLY dig for info on this one bc i couldn't find it on mfc and the non-standard branding on the tush tag really threw me for a loop bc? it isn't the normal branding BUT it has all the copyright info which bootlegs almost never do bc Lawsuit. so i looked and looked until i found someone selling it on eBay (where i got the photo bc there are no official pictures i can find) in the philippines and?? apparently it's some super obscure Korean Gaming Association Release? and mine doesn't seem to be bootleg, like i said there's the stuff w the tush tag, all the embroidery and sewing are top notch (bootlegs of this aren't common anyway, and the few i can find almost always fuck up the mouth embroidery or attaching the head to the body somehow, and the fur-like fabric they use is visibly cheap as hell) and i got it from a store that from what i can tell doesn't sell any bootlegs (esp considering it's location and the prices they charge... if anyone were buying bootlegs for some of the prices they have, they'd be being robbed blind), so like? i think i just bagged a weirdly rare and practically entirely undocumented (on the english web, at least) bulbie. neat.

a plush of sylveon, a pokemon. sylveon is a cat-sized and cat-like pokemon, but unlike cats it has long round ears, and little tendril-like feelers? sylveon is mostly white, it's ears are pink with a dark blue interior, along with it's paws, fluffy tail, and part of it's head and neck bow being pink. it's feelers are mostly white, with light blue, dark blue, and pink coloring at the ends. it is curled up and asleep, smiling softly.

Final Fantasy XIV - Kuplu Kopo (Square Enix) (Apr. 2016) - kupo!!! i played through ffxiv: a realm reborn a while ago and really enjoyed it, so i got this plush bc moogles are cute and soft. i still have yet to play through heavensward or stormblood but i'll get back to it eventually.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (2010) - please PLEASE watch this if you haven't already. it isn't perfect (and has it's own share of unfortunate... anime-isms, for lack of a better term, especially during the opening few minutes, but it's legit one of my fave films. imagine one girl runs the world. what happens when she up and vanishes without a trace, and you're the only one who even knows she existed at all? what would you do?

Hidamari Sketch: Picture Perfect Collection (Aired Jan. 2007 - Nov. 2013, compilation released Nov. 2019) - literal comfort food show. it's almost entirely good. i have some caveats with it but they're caveats that are (unfortunately) common in most CGDCT shows honestly. plus 5 seasons and a season's worth of OVAs for like $60 is a pretty fucking killer deal honestly!

K-ON! The Movie (2011) - honestly probably not as good if you haven't watched the rest of the show beforehand, as it basically serves as the series finale, but it's just a good fun time! doesn't have the main gripe i had with the rest of the show as well which is nice (see: Sawako. i'd be into her but why is she so weird to the girls... at least her role in the movie amounts to 'hey i'm also here')

The iDOLM@STER SP Perfect Sun (PSP) (Namco) (Feb. 2009) - baby's first raising sim, played originally sometime in 2015 or 2016? i only finished haruka's route, as i actually preferred the cast choices from missing moon (chihaya, ritsuko, azusa), but 2/3 of the routes from it are still yet to be translated. it's like? fine? though honestly these days ur probably better off starting w a later game in the series.

K-ON! Houkago Live (PSP) (SEGA) (Sep. 2010) - baby's first rhythm game, which apparently uses the same engine as the psp diva games and was developed by the same team which is neat. i don't remember being particularly good with any one character, though i do remember not being able to clear anything on higher difficulties, let alone using the item that unlocks super hard mode on songs. graphics are really nice for PSP as well, it mimicks the art style of the show super closely. it ended up getting a ps3 port shortly before i got it, though i didn't have a ps3 so i just got it for psp.
