im back to work again and have been for about a month! it's going well!

i had SO MUCH going on this summer! it was the first summer in a while where neither i nor my partner were recovering in surgery SO WE MADE THE MOST OF IT! we went to a night market festival which was really fun and we had lots of tasty food! we also went to RED VOX'S SHOW IN CLEVELAND! it was my first time leaving my home state in my life (and my first time flying) and it was AMAZING! travelling so far was honestly kind of exhilerating, the adrenaline from that and being able to see one of my favorite bands for the first time was enough to keep me up (barely) for the like... 36 hours between when i woke up the day i was going to the airport and the time i hit the bed back at the hotel LOL. ohio honestly has a lot of natural beauty i dont get to see in my region of the country. tons and tons of greenery and wildflowers and stuff along the red line train. i would love to go back and explore more of the cleveland area at some point. we were also briefly in canadian airspace for a bit during our flight from chicago to cleveland SO I CAN TECHNICALLY SAY I'VE BEEN TO CANADA /s

back in the spring we also went to miku expo in los angeles! we went to day 1 AND OMG... 100% worth the money. i had some minor gripes (mostly just why was the stage SO BARE for meiko's songs...) but it was an AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING SHOW. amazing setlist, amazing band, amazing presentation despite the move to big screens instead of glass projection. though i completely get why they made that move, especially after magical mirai made the same transition in tech. my wife and i got especially emotional during connect:commune and odds&ends... we have a shared memory of me showing her the (at the time just-uploaded) music video for odds&ends in the park after school on my (kinda) Brand New Smartphone with 3G signal and the fact that we are just as if not more dear to each other now than we were then and that we got to see it live together.... sniffle. big gay transgender love beam frfr

i've also gotten big into idolmaster again.... hello 16 year old me. i've been playing a bunch of deresute and gakumas (which has surprisingly good writing now that i've given it a chance... kotone suki). i might try to pick up starlit season and play it in english EVENTUALLY but i've gotta figure out how to do all that and figure out how to store it bc storage on mine and my partner's shared PC is TIGHT rn. we're running on 20 free gbs that threatens to get eaten up by random bs by the day. i might make them sit through the 2011 anime bc Haruka and Chihaya are PEAK but i need to double check cinderella girls b4 i make them watch that as well. maybe sidem too

honestly rn i'm mostly focusing on surviving, building savings so HOPEFULLY! HOPEFULLYYYY we can move out sometime next year. i am grateful for the spot i'm in rn where i can actually save up and not have to worry about being homeless or being too broke to function otherwise but ngl it is not without friction. having our own place will be a welcome change of pace and i am very much looking forward to it and working as hard as i can to ensure my partner and i have a good landing spot and plenty of funds to secure it.

i'm writing this on her chromebook rn and i'm hoping MAYBE sometime soon i can jump back onto our shared PC (room is currently in shambles and PC needs to get moved back in, we moved it temporarily to play sonic team racing on the big tv in the living room) and set aside an afternoon to just code and add stuff here but free time is at an absolute PREMIUM rn. there is always something pressing that needs to get done at any given time... agh. i'm hoping october is more lax but we'll see.
