another month another journal entry =w=

closing in on the end of my work period before i'm off for a few months and as much as i enjoy my job i am v much looking forward to the time off... i'm also looking into more stuff for career advancement, mostly stuff like actually getting credentialed. my next year is mostly gonna be temp gigs, but from what i can tell from what my wife and sister-in-law have experienced, it should be pretty consistent and it pays really well in my area which is nice. that and looking into schooling... my local uni program is a bit shit (not necessarily at teaching you the job but at like. Everything Else) but it seems like it'd be a massive pain trying to go to a different uni since i'd have to get an out-of-area work permit OR commute 1+ hrs to work for all my clinical practice. which would suck and wouldn't even be useful for learning my local area w it. so it seems i'd have to deal w my uni's BS and just tough it out.

i spent this past weekend mostly working on work training and making kandi for the upcoming mcr show. i wanna be able to make PLENTY to give away as well as the ones i want to trade, so despite already having ~60 between myself and my wife, i probably still have a lot to make. we were actually talking abt hosting a kandi-making party at my GMIL's house while i'm in recovery, both to bolster our bracelet battalion and to make sure my social battery doesn't completely die while i'm in recovery. i miss my uni friends and i haven't seen local friends lately so i'd very much like that.

mother's day is... well, it is what it is. i went out for brunch with my family and it was weird doing something for mother's day without mom there, but considering this is the first time we've done something as a family for mother's day after she passed... it was kind of bound to feel weird. i also got to spend time w my mother-in-law which was nice, esp since she gets where i'm coming from w my fraught relationship w my mom.

i have also been trying to get into crochet but... considering i missed 3 birthday deadlines and have. No Progress i think i'm gonna switch to something i'm already good at like perlers or smth. i'm also in the process of working on a custom figure of karen aijou from revue starlight, i already have most the parts i need i just need to get off my ass and Do It. but i'm tired when i get home from work lol

i also should hit 2k in savings once i'm done w my current gig but uhhhh we'll see how much hospital fees dent it.
