about me:
morgan | 23 | he/him | bi
been online for most of my life, started by making stop-motion stuff on youtube as a kid, then moved to deviantart, then tumblr.
now i have my own site! because social media isn't very fun anymore :[
my main interests are video games and music, and i've been getting back into watching anime as of late.
as of checking in on this (11/30/23), i'm currently playing pokemon legends arceus! haven't watched any shows in a while, i keep rewatching stream vods and video essays lol.
i also draw! i mostly draw the OCs of a friend of mine, bc their characters and the world they've built around them r really cool.
i have an art page with my favorite pieces here, but you can also find my art on my tumblr linked above (provided that the search isn't broken), on sudomemo, and on artfight.
i play bass, but i only started practicing seriously a few months ago. i kind of bounced around between wanting to learn different instruments since childhood, and eventually settled on bass. i also want to pick up keyboard again and eventually dabble in composition.
i also used to do some translation work back in high school (i have like. extremely super basic japanese reading/listening skills, thank god for jp dictionaries and translation tools), both in scanlating manga for a short time and with lyrics, the latter of which i'd like to get back into (and into writing more lyrics and poetry in general). i'm currently working on studying kanji/kanji radicals and on my conversational skills. please feel free to message me if you speak japanese, esp fluently/are a native speaker, i need the practice lol.
i listen to a lot of music, though i tend to fall back on rock music (00s, 90s, new wave, math rock, alt, shoegaze, emo, metal, whatever!) and pretty much anything involving vocal synths. discovered miku when i was 10 and never fell off of it lol
i also enjoy console modding!! idk enough to make stuff from scratch for consoles but i've modded my 3ds and wii and had a blast with both. custom themes on 3ds are super fun and getting to explore development tools and applications from the view of someone generally unfamiliar with game dev (aside from one project i had to head for like 4 months in high school that was a nightmare) is super interesting. it's like looking at a skeleton or guts but less gross lol
just for funzies, my top 3 bucket list items are: see mcr perform live (missed my first real chance last year and am still kicking myself for it but there will be more), travel somewhere outside of my home continent (still have yet to leave my home state), and the last one is a toss up between being able to play bass well enough to perform live OR to see my friend's OC comic come to fruition in some form, even if it may never get some big following or even get finished. idk im attached to it lol
lastly (for now, i might add more later lol), despite enjoying cataloging what i play and read and watch, i don't tend to rate anything. idrc about assigning numbers to art bc it just doesn't really click with me!! everything i choose to spend considerable time on has artistic merit to me in some form and i feel like '7.8 too much water'-ing art just isn't something i'm interested in doing. also i started cataloging stuff pretty late so there's some stuff i cataloged like 6 months ago but in reality i watched or played it like over a decade ago. so there's also that lol.
anyway
^ have a jack sticker for reading this far lol
